This month was the biggest change yet; for the first time, I wasn't the one to take care of you all day. Big changes!
Month 4:
This month definitely had many highs and lows. I left you to go to work, which was the worst day of my life, but you grew and changed so much it was incredible to watch! This month was a bit of a blur because work took some getting used to and once I got home it felt like we never had enough time with you before you had to go to bed. We did so many fun things with you this month, but found out how much you demanded to remain on your strict schedule. The Tigers v. Angels baseball game that we took you to was way past your bedtime, extremely loud and bright, and scared the crap out of you. We spent most of the time taking turns walking with you out in the dark seating area outside the stadium. You made it all the way to the 7th inning stretch though like the little trooper you are! You were so much more mobile this month in and out of your walker. You would zoom around the house in it and crack us all up.
Your Firsts: Days without mommy. I went back to work on August 14th. The night before I didn't sleep at all. I cried all night and all the next day whenever someone asked me about you. I was so upset about leaving you and just wanted desperately to be a stay at home mom. Luckily, Mimi watched you the first day I was gone and sent me pictures and texts all day. We even Skyped so I could talk to you. When I got to work, Daddy had gone into my classroom and brought me flowers, candy, school supplies, and BEST OF ALL, pictures of you for my room. It made it a little easier, but not much. During the staff meeting our principal put your picture up so everyone could see you and I burst into tears. I missed you every second. That feeling never really goes away, but I guess I just learned to deal with it a little better.

This is the display Daddy set up for me the day I had to start work! |
First Baseball Game. We went on your 4 month birthday to see the Angels play the Tigers. We went with Grandpa Dave and Grandma Carol. Like I said before, you didn't like it much because it was VERY loud and late. Everyone was taking pictures of you and talking about how adorable you were even when you were crying. My friend, Kara, made your little Tiger hair ribbon and Daddy and I both wore Tiger shirts so we would match as a family.
First Time Swimming. We went swimming at Grandpa Dave's house during the hottest part of the summer. We just took you in your diaper because as cute as your little polka dot bathing suit was, I knew we wouldn't be in the pool for too long. The water was chilly and I expected you to scream, but you actually liked it quite a bit. You kicked your legs and splashed. You didn't like your hat or the sunblock though. I think we were in the pool for about 15 minutes, but then you sat outside with Grandma Carol on the swing outside while I swam with Josh, Daddy and Grandpa. When you got grumpy I sat with you on the swing and sang you to sleep.

Family Dinners. This is the month we started eating family dinners every night together. You are such a good girl and sit in your Bumbo and talk and play and Daddy and I get to eat and play with you. I really hope we continue to eat dinners as a family forever so we get a chance to talk about our days and share with each other.
